Mumbai-based online coupon and cashback site CouponDunia has launched a premium lifestyle card – Quirk. This card has been initially launched in Bangalore.

It will specifically cater to the lifestyle needs of the urban city dwellers and will offer exceptional privileges in a curated list of 50 restaurants and bars in town.

Some of Quirk card’s features include 24×7,unlimited usage, monthly value-adds that include FreshMenu and Jean-Claude Biguine credits and more.

Commenting on the launch, Ankita Tandon, Founder, Quirk Card said, “Our goal has always been to revolutionise how people experience eating out. There was no better place to launch this card than Bangalore, which has seen a phenomenal number of restaurants open doors in the last few years, a tremendous increase in the spending power of Bangaloreans along with the unending appetite of young professionals.”

The company further plans to enter into markets like Mumbai and Delhi and to introduce privileges across other lifestyle segments like hotels, travel, health & fitness etc.

Founded in 2010 by Sameer Parwani, CouponDunia, launched location-based couponing for offline stores, in June 2015. In April 2016 it announced the launch of cashback feature. The company was acquired by Times Internet in 2014.

Earlier in May this year, Coupondunia also launched a last-minute hotel booking mobile application, Sorted. The company’s other initiatives range from launching newspaper coupons that can be redeemed for instant discounts on grocery, home care and personal care purchases at local supermarkets and venturing into the offline space in newer segments and in newer cities. Also it has introduced features such as geo-targetting feature in its app which informs the user about the offers available around them depending on their location.

India’s present retail market size stands at $600 Bn and is expected to touch $1 Tn by 2020. A survey by Cuponation last year, pointed out that 95% of Indian shoppers spend a substantial amount of time to find the best deal and 92% of surveyed people mentioned that discounts are the biggest driving factor of online shopping. This clearly explains how quickly the average Indian shopper has taken to enjoying the benefits of couponing.

Other players in this space include Cashkaro.com, CouponRani, Groupon and  Mydala.
