Mumbai-based cross-category classifieds platform Quikr has tied up with Fixy, a startup that provides on demand maintenance services at home and office.
The partnership is aimed to boost Quikr’s home services vertical, QuikrServices, that was launched in October last year. Under the tie up, any queries in the home services segment at Quikr, for Mumbai and Thane, would be redirected to Fixy.
Tufayl Merchant, co-founder of Fixy, said, “We will be the exclusive partners for queries in the home services segment. This includes handyman jobs (electrician, carpenter, and plumber), home cleaning services and appliance repair and maintenance.”
Fixy is a Mumbai-based startup that was co-founded by Tufayl Merchant and Nabeel Merchant in 2014. The startup is an online platform that provides services for booking handyman and home maintenance services.
The company currently claims to processes 40 to 50 requests a day and says that it has the capacity to ramp up to 500 jobs a day. Merchant added that apart from three categories in which Fixy is present in, the company plans to enter the personal devices and indoor entertainment device repair and maintenance space. Fixy also plans to expand its services in cities like Pune, Ahmedabad, Surat and Rajkot over the next year.
About two months ago, Quikr had shared its plans to invest about $37.5 Mn (INR 250 Cr.) in its home services category. It competes with players like Findyahan, Urbanclap, Housejoy, Timesaverz, and Zimmber among others.
Apart from QuikrServices, Quikr launched a plethora of services for consumers in 2015. It launched QuikrJobs, a platform that caters to blue-collar and entry-level white-collar job seekers, QuikrHomes, a platform that provides customer engagement and lead management tools for builders and brokers, and QuikrCars, a free local classified platform to post online ads for new or used cars, bikes & commercial vehicles.
