Data analytics startup Scienaptic has secured an undisclosed amount in investment from Pramod Bhasin, former Nasscom Chairman and founder, Genpact.

The funding will be used to scale its big data platform, Ether.

Scienaptic was founded in May 2014 by Pankaj Kulshreshtha, who has worked with Bhasin in creating and scaling a 6,000+ people analytics business in the past, as per an official statement. Scienaptic’s big data platform, Ether enables users to decipher customer behaviour patterns and design intelligent interventions.

Talking about the funding, Pankaj Kulshreshtha, founder, Scienaptic said, “Scienaptic was created to evolve a new platform to deliver customer intelligence and impact from big data and machine learning. Given the need for fresh thinking, I knew that a regular VC would not do. We are absolutely delighted that Pramod chose to invest in us. He is helping us build Scienaptic vision and capabilities with his rich perspective on future of work, technology, and business.”

The startup is headquartered in New York and has an engineering centre in Bengaluru. The company provides services in areas such as risk management, optimisation processes, and customer interactions by using advanced data analytics.

In June 2016, Bengaluru-based analytics solutions startup BRIDGEi2i raised an undisclosed amount of Series A funding from Edelweiss Private Equity. In August 2016, Gurugram-based Cuberoot Technologies, a data analytics company, raised nearly $500K from undisclosed investors. Earlier last month Bengaluru- and US-based data science company Impact Analytics secured $750K in a funding round led by early-stage VC firm Aarin Capital.

Other players in the industry include IntelligenceNODE, Indus Insights, Axtria etc.
