Practo, a doctor discovery platform in Asia has acquired Genii – a product outsourcing firm with deep domain experience building bespoke e-commerce portals, SaaS platform across retail, media, finance and other industries for clients including Axis Bank, Mediassist, Economic Times, HDFC RED and others.
The founders of Genii, Varun Vohra and Aditya Anand, along with the 11-member team will join Practo and move to Bangalore. Varun Vohra will be entitled as the Principal Catalyst, Engineering and Aditya Anand as the Principal Catalyst, Product. They will lead product teams and accelerate Practo’s march towards the enterprise space with products focused around hospitals, diagnostic centers and others.

Mumbai-based, Genii was founded by Varun Vohra and Aditya Anand in 2011. It is a technology services firm focused on product design and development. In the past 3 years, they’ve taken more than 30 products from inception to launch across multiple domains including retail, finance, real estate, travel and events while maintaining triple digit growth year on year. As product thinkers with engineering and design skills, they help their clients plan, implement and evolve their digital products.

Bangalore-based, Practo was founded by Shashank ND and Abhinav Lal in 2008. Company aims to help improve human longevity by simplifying healthcare. Practo already lists over 8,000 hospitals on its platform and will expand this to over 20,000 by end of this year.
