Indian Cricketer Mohit Sharma Backs Noida Based Startup for Artists Crossahead

Indian cricketer Mohit Sharma has invested in a social networking-based discovery platform for artists, Crossahead. The amount of funding remains disclosed.

Founded in July 2015 by Vishvendra Chaudhary and Gaurav Walia, Crossahead is a web-based social networking platform where potential customers can interact with professional artists based on their geographical location and requirements. It allows artists to list themselves on its platform and potential users can straight away look for the desired artist via its social network.

Vishvendra Chaudhary, co-founder, Crossahead said,  “In this era, where market has gone online, artists’ community seems to have been highly unorganised and Crossahead aims at bringing all the professional artists on a single platform, therefore making it easier for all the users to find an artist of their desire online. Crossahead is creating an ecosystem wherein job opportunities for artists are generated and bridging the gap that prevails in between the artists and the common people – whether it’s the problem of artists not receiving due recognition amidst the masses, or the trouble and hassle people face while looking for professional artists to help them with their creative requirements.”

As per an official statement, Crossahead currently has around 10,000+ verified artists registered on its platform. The company plans to increase the sub-categories offered to streamline users’ search and also plans to launch a host of user-friendly options for the website as well the Android app.

In September this year, online classifieds major, Quikr launched a talent discovery platform, Dazzlr that aims at bringing together actors, casting professionals, directors and producers.

In January 2015, talent-led digital entertainment network #fame, raised $10 Mn in second round financing from TO THE NEW Ventures (TTN Ventures). Earlier last month, entertainment tech platform TalentNext raised $1 Mn Seed funding led by Karanpal Singh (Managing Director at KJS Cement) and other angel investors.
