Healthtech startup AsepsisLife has raised an undisclosed amount in angel investment. The startup has also been selected for Facebook’s FbStart, the early stage, mobile-focussed startup programme of Facebook.
The funding will be used to enhance company’s inorganic reach via social marketing.
Founded in 2014 by Ashutosh Prasad and Vivek Prasad, the startup’s flagship product is mobile-based immunisation app vImmune. It offers a free immunisation tracker for a family and also claims to provide lifelong vaccination reminders. It also offers scientifically-backed content on topics such as public health and its importance, vaccination, pain management strategy etc.
Talking about company’s revenue model, Ashutosh Prasad, founder and CEO, AsepsisLife said, “In the B2C model, we plan to generate revenues by offering value-based freemium services from vImmune. We also have a comprehensive product roadmap that includes a cognitive platform strategy based on proprietary algorithms. In the B2B model, we plan to license our health and wellness platform, which goes beyond immunisation, to insurance providers in a subscription mode.”
vImmune is available on both Android and iOS.
Under the accelerator programme, the startup will receive $40,000 worth of credits and services from Facebook and its partners including UserTesting, Dropbox, and MailChimp.
Facebook launched FbStart in 2014 with an aim to help early-stage mobile startups build and grow their apps. It provides an exclusive community, worldwide events, and mentorship from Facebook to the startups along with $80K in free tools and services. FbStart includes three tracks, viz., Pre-launch (up to $15K benefits), Bootstrap (up to $30K benefits), and Accelerate (upto $80K benefits).
As per an official statement, the startup was also selected for IBM’s Global Entrepreneurship Programme and received IBM Bluemix credits worth $12,000.
Earlier in April 2016, New Delhi-based foodtech startup FoodCloud was accepted in the FbStart programme. It connects foodies with home chefs and caterers. Following that, peer-to-peer platform of moms and moms-to-be Healofy was selected for the programme, earlier last month.
Other startups in the space include MeraDoctor, Sanket, OurHealthMate etc.
