Bengaluru and San Jose-based enterprise tech startup Whatfix has raised $32 Mn in Series C funding round led by Sequoia Capital India. Whatfix’s existing investors Eight Roads Ventures, F-Prime Capital, and Cisco Investments also participated in the round.
With this funding, Whatfix will drive product development and expand into new markets such as Europe and Australia. The company is also looking to address the growing demand for its digital adoption solutions (DAS) which help businesses update their operations and increase the ROI on technology.
“Whatfix will continue to hire across all functions and geographies and provide the leading digital adoption platform that enables clients to drive adoption across applications, browsers and devices; is easy to deploy; has the most open ecosystem and is truly secure,” said Vara Kumar, cofounder and CTO at Whatfix.
Besides this, the company is planning to invest in Whatfix’s digital adoption platform (DAP) to innovate the product further. Whatfix aims to bring in more features to the DAP, which will unify the employee experience and digital journey across desktop, mobile and web applications. The company wants to simplify enterprise-wide search and increase user productivity through workflow automation, personalisation and build–operate–transfer (BOT)-based data entry.
Prior to this, the company raised $13.2 Mn (INR 92 Cr) Series B funding from Eight Roads Ventures, F Prime Capital, and Cisco Investments, in May 2019. The company’s existing investors Stellaris Venture Partners and Helion Venture Partners had also participated in the round.
In October 2019, Whatfix acquired Airim, which offers an AI-powered personalisation engines for users and customers. In a subsequent press note, the company highlighted that Whatfix will become the industry’s first digital adoption solution (DAS) provider to offer autonomous personalisation solutions with the acquisition.
Founded in 2013 by Khadim Batti and Vara Kumar Namburu, Whatfix is a SaaS-based enterprise tech startup which is currently helping more than 400 medium and large global enterprises in the adoption of various software.
“As the future of work evolves, enterprises must invest in digital adoption now to prepare for the next wave in the digital workplace. Mainstream employees and alternative workforce will need to be digitally savvy, stay focused on key digital activities, use BOTs to enter data and perform routine tasks, re-skill themselves by self-learning in the flow of work, and be comfortable acting on hyper-personalised guidance,” said cofounder and CEO Batti.
Bhatti also clarified that Whatfix provides step-by-step navigations to help employees understand a particular software and its features. This makes the learning process simpler and much more interactive for the employees. “Personalised in-app guidance, automation and quick discovery will help enterprises and their workers be more productive and reduce cognitive overload,” Batti added.
