Reliance Jio Launches GST Taxation Starter Kit ‘JioGST’

Reliance Jio, after creating a tussle between the Indian telcos with its freebies, has come up with a new product in the rolling GST wave. The company has launched a GST starter kit – JioGST – to assist small businesses in their GST taxation-related filings.

The Mukesh Ambani-led initiative envisions JioGST as an innovative and cost-effective mobile first GST compliance starter kit. Priced at INR 1,999, it comes with INR 10,884 worth software and hardware products. This one-stop solution has been chosen as a GST Suvidha Provider (GSP) by the Goods and Service Tax Network (GSTN) to help taxpayers handle all aspects of the newly-launched taxation policy.

The company has also joined hands with the Retailers Association of India (RAI) to provide JioGST services to all its merchants.

JioGST: What The Starter-Kit Offers

In addition to a specially-designed software, the starter kit will include a WiFi device called JioFi, a GST-compliant billing application as well as a host of attractive data and voice plans. The software solution offers SMEs a hassle-free way to file GST tax returns, without actually having to use a computer or even a billing software.

To make the deal even sweeter, Reliance is also offering a free WiFi device with unlimited voice calling facility as well as 24 GB of high-speed 4G data with a validity of one year.

Billing App

The billing app, on the other hand, comes equipped with an extensive repository of tax codes for a wide variety of goods and services, which means that it can be used to generate summary wise invoices with a single click. This completely eliminates the need for printers or computers. According to the official website of JioGST, the app costs INR 4,999, but is currently available for free as part of the INR 1,999 starter kit. Buyers can also make use of the installment plan, starting at INR 95.03 per month.

The Knowledge Hub

For further assistance, users can seek help from tax experts, and can even ask professionals to file their GST returns for them. The kit also contains a vast database of help articles, guides and knowledge series that is designed to help taxpayers at every step of their way. Jio’s chat facility is also available for use.

To enjoy all these benefits, all one needs to do is order the JioGST Starter Kit online and wait for it get delivered to the user’s address. To activate the device, the user will need to acquire a special JIO SIM from the nearest Reliance Digital, Jio or DX Mini store. Following SIM activation, one can create an account on JioGST.com and register the JioFi device using the GST Identification Number (or GSTIN).

Reliance Jio has reportedly crossed the 100 Million subscribers mark and the Jio family is still growing, making it one of the fastest growing telecommunications network.
