HouseJoy co-founders Arjun Kumar and Sunil Goel have left the startup. According to the reports, both have been kept out of major decisions for a very long time by ex-Flipster Saran Chatterjee. As stated, the company board forced the founders to leave the company, “to create a single point of decision-making in the hands of professional CEO Saran Chatterjee.”

Former BCCL CEO Ravi Dhariwal Joins Clovia

Ravi Dhariwal has joined Clovia as a Mentor and Advisor. He brings on board his vast experience in strategy, organisational development, marketing, and brand management. Clovia has recently raised $4 Mn in an extension of its Series A funding which also saw the participation of Dhariwal.

Ravi Dhariwal has over 38 years of experience in building consumer businesses all over the world. He started his career with Unilever India in 1977 and worked for them in India and Australia for over 12 years in Sales and Marketing Management. He also served as a Vice President of Franchise for SE Asia at PepsiCo International. He was Pepsi’s first employee in India and was instrumental in the brand’s growth in India during his 12-year tenure with the company.

He is also a co-founder at Sagacito Technologies Private Limited and also serves as a Senior Advisor of TPG Growth. Previously, he was the CEO of Bennett Coleman & Co. Limited. Ravi Dhariwal also serves on the Board of several leading companies of India including Times Infotainment Media Ltd. and Times Journal India Pvt. Ltd; Future Enterprises Limited; Bharti Retail Pvt. Ltd.; and Bata India Ltd. He completed his chemical engineering from IIT Kanpur and MBA from IIM Kolkata.

Twitter Promotes Its India Business Head

Twitter has promoted its India business head Taranjeet Singh as Country Director. In his new role, he will be responsible for driving audience growth, engagement and revenue of Indian operations. He was working on his earlier position since January 2015. He was an INSEAD alumnus and prior to joining Twitter has served as sales director of BBC’s Southeast Asian operations. His early career stints also showcase association with brands such as Outlook and Pioneer.

Recently, Twitter launched a light version called ‘Twitter Lite.’ The global launch of the product commenced from India.
