We bring to you the latest edition of movers and shakers in the Indian startup ecosystem.

With India continuing to be the focus of major global players, there have been several new additions to the teams working in India.

In one such development, RP- Sanjiv Goenka Group has appointed Abhishek Goenka to head its Venture Capital Fund. Previously Abhishek has worked as the Vice President for True North Corporation. He is a Chartered Accountant and has been a part of the investment team at J.P. Morgan.

Further, SoftBank Group has finally approved the nominations of Marcelo Claure, Rajeev Misra and Katsunori Sago as executive vice presidents. Sago also joined Misra and Claure as a board member after a shareholder vote. As Inc42 reported earlier, the personnel changes mark the biggest overhaul in SoftBank’s top management since 2014.

Paytm Appoints Rama Subramaniam Gandhi As Advisor

Digital payments giant Paytm has appointed Rama Subramaniam Gandhi, retired deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), as an advisor.

In his new role at Paytm, Gandhi will bring his years of knowledge and experience in payment systems, regulations, compliance, and corporate governance. Shri R Gandhi is a Financial Sector Policy expert and was the Deputy Governor at Reserve Bank of India (RBI) from 2014 to 2017.

Prior to becoming the RBI deputy governor, Gandhi was a central banker and has been a member of the first Monetary Policy Committee of India. He has also done a three-year secondment at the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and was the head of two regional offices of the RBI.

InCred Appoints Vivek Bansal As CFO

Mumbai-based financial services consumer & SME lending platform, InCred has appointed Vivek Bansal as its Chief Financial Officer.

Vivek has 20 years of rich domestic and international experience in the banking and financial services industry. He will be a crucial part of InCred’s management team as the fintech startup pushes towards the next phase of its growth. InCred under Vivek’s leadership endeavors to disrupt the status quo in traditional lending with its simplified processes and focus on serving the unique needs of borrowers

In his early career stints, he had led the finance division at YES Bank as Deputy CFO. Also, he held key leadership roles at Fidelity Investment Managers in the UK and Standard Chartered Bank in India.

He is a certified Chartered Accountant as well as a Chartered Financial Analyst from the CFA Institute, USA.

Uber Elevates Pradeep Parameswaran As India And South Asia Head

Uber has elevated Pradeep Parameswaran as India and South Asia Head. Pradeep has been leading operations in the region since January 2017.

Uber is busy restructuring its leadership base, the company had earlier elevated its India and South Asia Head Amit Jain as Head of Asia Pacific. Pradeep has been instrumental in pioneering several groundbreaking initiatives around safety and driver community.

An alumnus of Mumbai University, he began his career at Hindustan Lever, followed by a 13-year stint at McKinsey & Co. In his last role, he was CEO of Den Networks, a Cable TV company.

Instamojo Appoints Deepak.D.Prakash As CBO

MSME- focused digital payments platform, Instamojo has appointed Deepak .D. Prakash as their new Chief Business Officer.

In his new role, Deepak will be responsible for creating a differentiated customer experience, along with enhancing the growth of the business and brand alike.

He has 24 years of experience in the business of IT software products & solutions, and the MSME space across India and the Middle East.

An alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad, Deepak has worked as the VP for Tally Solutions Ltd. He is also the cofounder of Bengaluru-based Scaffold Business Consulting.

DigitalOcean Appoints Mark Templeton as CEO

DigitalOcean, the cloud platform for developers and their teams has appointed Mark Templeton as its Chief Executive Officer. He will also join the company’s board of directors.

Mark will lead and scale the team to accelerate and grow Digital Ocean’s business. The company looks to uphold its commitment to its customers and the developer community.

Previously Mark Templeton was the CEO of Citrix Systems.He led Citrix to become a global industry leader with more than 100 million users and annual revenue of over $3 Bn.

He is chairman of the board of both Instart Logic and Adaptive Insights, and serves on the board of directors for Equifax, Keysight Technologies and Arista Networks. Mark Templeton holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.
