ManageMySpa, the one stop solution, cloud-based software for salons, spas and medi-spas has rebranded itself as Zenoti to reflect a broadened service offering. Simultaneously, the firm also launched its consumer app called TAKE5 that will enable an effortless experience for salon and spa goers to find, book and pay for appointments.

Sudheer Koneru, CEO and co-founder of Zenoti stated, “At the heart of the TAKE5 is our belief that every individual deserves to take a break from their busy schedule, whether it’s 5 minutes or 5 hours. With TAKE5, our goal is to bring wellness and beauty, and convenience together for a happier and healthier lifestyle.”

TAKE5 consumer app will allow the consumer to make an appointment at spas and salons in locations nearby in real-time just as Uber allows consumers to hail a taxi on-demand nearest to one’s location. The consumer can sort from the list of spas depending on the ratings, preferred date and time, preferred stylist, distance from his location, and price. He can then make an instantaneous appointment and pay for the service upfront through the app.

The app negates the need of calling up the spa to book an appointment. It will also provide curated content to the consumers on wellness and beauty and will push notifications to consumers about their appointments in advance or with respect to specific discounts on services.

TAKE5 is being rolled out in Hyderabad and Mumbai to begin with, and will be gradually rolled out to other major metros over the next few months. At present, the service is free of charge, but later booking convenience fee of around 10% would be levied. Zenoti plans to roll out the version 2x of the app in the next two months which will have added features of referrals along with newer marketing features.

The app directly connects with the spa’s appointment book and notifies the business when the appointment is made. It will offer the businesses intelligent marketing and revenue management capabilities to reach their daily revenue targets. The app’s smart revenue manager displays dynamic pricing, based on parameters set by the business. The app will also allow local business to promote featured services in a targeted way, and allow them to deliver an effortless experience to their consumers.

TAKE5 would see competition from the likes of Ziffi, Purplle, YouWeCan Ventures-backed Vyomo and BookMy Spa. Mumbai based Ziffi, which initially was focusing on doctor and clinic appointments, has recently forayed into salons and spas to cover the gamut of wellness services. As per the company, it covers over 1,000 salons, 15,000 doctors and 5,000 diagnostic centers, and has till date booked over 250,000 appointments. It raised $2.2 Mn (INR 15 Cr) in Series A round of funding led by Orios Venture Partners. Meanwhile, Purplle which is an online beauty and personal care site, and also allows consumers to make spa appointments, raised an undisclosed amount in funding round led by IvyCap Ventures this January.

Zenoti, headquartered in Seattle (Washington), is an all in one cloud based software for saloons, spas, and medi spas with rich capabilities across appointment scheduling, online booking, billing, built in marketing, inventory management, CRM, and loyalty feature. It serves more than 5,000 customers in 40 countries. In India, it operates out of Hyderabad. This July, it has raised about $6 Mn (around INR 38.4 Cr.) in its Series A round of funding led by Accel Partners.
