Funding Galore: A Look At Startups That Raised Funding This Week

This week went pretty interesting for the startups in the country with a number of funding rounds and acquisitions taking place in the startup ecosystem. Apart from the startups raising funds or getting acquired; Venture Capital Fund Orios Venture Partners also raised INR300 Cr in funding.

Have a look at the startups that raised funds this week:

EZMove: Pune based online home relocation service aggregator EZMove raised INR 1 Cr. In angel funding led by group of 7 HNIs including Hemant Bharatram, andChicago-based Purvi Capital cofounder Ravi Srivastava, who have all invested in the one year old startup in their personal capacity.

TaxiForSure: It raised $30 Mn in Series C round of funding led by Accel Partners US, with existing investors Accel India, Bessemer Venture Partners and Helion Venture Partners also participating in the round.

TinyOwl : Mumbai based TinyOwl which offers a location-based mobile app for food ordering, secured $3 Mn in its Series A round of funding from Sequoia Capital and Nexus Venture Partners.

Apart from these Angel investor Rehan Yar Khan, who has invested in startups like Olacabs, Druva, Pretty Secrets etc. raised INR 300 Cr for his maiden venture capital fund i.e.Orios Venture Partners, a fund for early stage internet and software product startups.

Acquisitions

Preburn: FreeCharge, acquired Delhi based Preburn, a beta stage startup in the mobile space for undisclosed amount. Preburn is an offline app store designed for Rapid User Acquisition, offering app publishers a large pool of users.

Invati Insights: Hyderabad-based IT company Cyient Ltd acquired a 51 per cent stake in data analytics startup Invati Insights. The financial terms of the deal were left undisclosed. The startup will be renamed ‘Cyient Insights.

Zomato acquired Lunchtime.cz and Obedovat.sk, the Czech Republic’s and Slovakia’s restaurant guides respectively, for a combined amount of USD 3.25Mn.

With this, Chandigarh-based mobile VAS company Altruist Group acquired Singapore’s voice-based social media startup Bubbly for an undisclosed amount.
