Asset light budget accommodation startup, RedDoorz, has raised an undisclosed amount of Pre-Series A round of funding led by Jungle Ventures.
The company has also announced that Philip Wolf, founder PhoCusWright and Ajay Bakaya, executive director at Sarovar Hotels & Resorts, have joined the company’s as strategic advisory board to help it accelerate growth and product success.
RedDoorz is South East Asia’s light budget accommodation brand & service offering for hotels, resorts, inns, service apartments, B&Bs and guesthouses. It offers budget accommodation owners access to expert advice & assistance to standardize their offering and directly distribute online via RedDoorz technology platform.
RedDoorz was launched in July 2014 by Commeasure that has raised $1 Mn in funding led by Jungle Ventures in April 2015. The company is founded by Amit Saberwal and Kunwar Asheesh Saxena.
Due to travelers expecting more personalized stay, hotel owners have no option but use technology, social media and other innovations to deliver best customized experience. Otherwise, it can lead to negative reviews on social media and declining footfalls for the hotels. “This is where RedDoorz has a strong value proposition. We not only help consumers receive standardized services across all RedDoorz enabled budget accommodations but also help the budget hotel owners with technology to distribute across multiple digital platforms. It’s a win-win for both the consumer and the hotel owner,” said Amit Saberwal, CEO & founder of RedDoorz.
Currently, the company is working with 500+ Hotels across India and Asia.
Under the RedDoorz brand and service umbrella, these properties receive continued guidance to build repeat business and see higher online occupancies of up to 50%.
The Asia Pacific region is expected to receive about 27% of global tourist arrivals by 2020. Its prominent tourism and business hubs include Thailand, Bali, Singapore, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, etc.
Few other players in India who are operating in this space include Goibibo Ventures’s recently launched GoStays, ZoRooms, Oyo Hotels and Fabhotels.
