Indian Tech Startup Funding Report H1 2022
With 900 funding deals totalling $19 Bn in investment, the funding amount and deal count have reached an all-time high. However, the month-on-month inflow of both funding and the deal count is declining, with MoM growth rates of -4% and -8%, respectively.
In the first half of the past four years (2018 to 2021), fintech has been the most favoured sector (based on deal count) among the investors but after multiple negative signals — unsuccessful IPOs of Paytm and PolicyBazaar, stringent laws in terms of recurring payments and customer data storage & the crackdown on PPI licence based lending has made ecommerce the most favoured sector among Indian investor in H1 2022.
