WittyParrot Raises $444K Seed Funding From Mumbai Angels, Others

WittyParrot, a cloud-based SaaS platform has raised about $444K (INR 3 Cr) Seed funding led by Mumbai Angels Network with participation from Silicon Valley-based angel investors.

WittyParrot is focussed on delivering intelligent content for marketing, sales and support solutions. The company is headquartered in San Jose, California with sales offices across US and a development centre in Bengaluru. It is focussed on the automation of enterprise content leveraging big data and data science technologies.

Founded in 2012 by Anil Jwalanna and Rajesh Setty WittyParrot’s intelligent content delivery platform combined with collaboration and communication capabilities deliver contextually relevant content in the form of modular content blocks along with rich metadata that can be instantly found and consumed by sales and support teams. 

Anil Jwalanna, founder & CEO added, “WittyParrot is built on a profound, but simple idea. To make it easy to find relevant information in bite-size and then to use it, so that anyone can communicate faster, more effectively, and more consistently.”

The startup will use the newly raised funding to expand its sales team and grow footprint in the US as well as India.

Mumbai Angels Network is one of India’s largest angel networks with 250+ members across three active chapters – Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru. The portfolio comprises 80+ ventures across multiple sectors focused primarily on seed and early stage companies.

Prior to this in April 2014, WittyParrot raised $1 Mn led by Silicon Valley-based investors. Earlier in July 2016, SRI Capital invested about $1.3 Mn in two SaaS startupsYellowdig and Zuppler. In November 2016, SaaS-based predictive sales analytics startup Vymo secured $5 Mn in its Series A round from VC firm Sequoia India. Other startups in this segment include SaaS-based web optimisation and marketing platform Zarget, Chennai-based SaaS startup Freshdesk, etc.
