NDTV’s SmartCooky Raises Funding From VLCC Founder

NDTV Ecommerce’s venture, SmartCooky, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from VLCC founder Vandana Luthra.

Prannoy Roy, NDTV Group Executive Co-chairperson said “We are delighted to have Vandana Luthra, a pioneer in the field of wellness as an investor in Smartcooky. We see this alliance as a strategic one, where both parties are bound to gain.”

SmartCooky is a marketplace for health products and personal care products, and is an extension of NDTV’s existing food site.

Prior to this, in December 2015, Smartcooky raised funding from a group of angel investorsRajan Anandan, ex-Genpact president and CEO Pramod Bhasin, former executive board member of Unilever, Manvinder Singh Banga, TV Mohandas Pai’s son Siddharth Pai.
