Former Microsoft GM Rahul Sood’s Startup Unikrn Raises $7 Mn In Series A From Binary Capital, Mark Cuban & Others

Founded in 2014, by former Microsoft GM Rahul Sood, Unikrn a gaming startup has raised over $7 Mn in its Series A round of funding led Jonathan Teo and Justin Caldbeck of Binary Capital, who are known for early investing in companies such as Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, Whisper, Taskrabbit and more. With the funding, Unikrn will further the development of its revolutionary eSports platform, Unikrn.com, which offers safe and legal wagering on competitive video games matches and tournaments around the world.

Unikrn, a gaming and eSports company lets customers watch the world’s best professional gamers participate in live gaming tournaments around the world. Unikrn features tournaments for AAA titles such as League of Legends, Dota2, Counter-Strike, Heroes of the Storm, and others.

 

Also, for customers located in jurisdictions that permit online betting, the Unikrn platform provides an opportunity to bet on the outcomes of matches and tournaments through a range of bet types common in more traditional sports betting markets.

This round takes the total funds raised by Unikrn to $10 Mn, previously it had raised its seed funding of $3 Mn.
