The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), a non-profit global network of entrepreneurs and professionals is organising its annual tech-focussed conference, the TiE Global Summit on December 16-17, 2016 at The Taj Palace, New Delhi.
The summit aims to support early-stage entrepreneurs with guidance, mentoring, and direction.
Launched in 1992, TiE is a non-profit global organisation established with an aim to foster entrepreneurship. It currently has 14,000 members on its platform and is present in 18 countries and 62 chapters (associations).
This year’s Global Summit is being held in partnership with the agencies of the Government of India, 20+ TiE chapters from India, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, and Dubai, and global venture capital funds.
The Global conference will play host to activities and sessions like panel discussions, technology, trends and their demo, mentor-connect, investor connect, startup pitch, TiE-Lumis Entrepreneurial Awards, and TGS Expo.
The event will be presided by key speakers including Narayan Murthy, Sanjay Mehrotra, Prof Ramesh Raskar, Padmasree Warrior, and Divyank Turakhia, among others.
The Global Summit will aim to address issues like Make in India, Internet of Things, social entrepreneurship, emerging technologies, building brands in India, fintech, retail & ecommerce, startup ecosystem – India & Silicon Valley, young achievers, building & managing a sales organisation for startups, women entrepreneurship, and GMV, GM or GP, among others.
The event is expected to be attended by representatives of VC firms including Sequoia Capital, Qualcomm Ventures, NEA, Kalaari Capital etc.
Previously in August 2016, TiE Mumbai concluded the Smasher Awards, aimed at fostering entrepreneurship in the country. Six curated startups got the opportunity to pitch to get audience votes as well as jury votes at the finale of SmashUp 6.0.
