ShopClues Launches “ShopClues Connect”, A New Chat Feature To Connect Buyers With Sellers

Gurgaon-based online managed marketplace, ShopClues, has introduced a new chat feature on its Android app called ShopClues Connect which connects buyers directly with sellers for added information on product, price and availability.

The app also enables buyers to engage directly with sellers in their vicinity to negotiate delivery timelines, ask for details on warranty, returns etc.

Speaking on the launch, Sanjay Sethi, co-founder & CEO of ShopClues said, “With the ShopClues Connect feature, we have elevated the purchase experience manifold. By connecting with local retailers, buyers get more assurance when making a purchase. The new version will have added dimensions to our ‘bargain’ feature in the future by allowing merchants to create real-time discounts for a buyer and improve the shopping experience as a whole.”

How it works:

Customers can post questions on which buyers can respond. If merchants miss the message, they will be notified by email about the queries. Sellers can currently chat with the buyer from the chat panel of their Store Manager. Soon, the company will also launch an app for merchants to chat directly from their mobile devices.

Through this feature, customers can ask for additional product pictures before purchase. They can also send pictures of the product after delivery to ensure swifter grievance resolution in case of any issue.

This will help the shoppers and merchants in gathering all the accurate information to make an informed purchase decision as well as enhancing the overall shopping experience.

ShopClues attracts more than 60 Mn monthly visitors on its portal. The company has about 3 Cr products listed and more than 2,50,000 merchants serving 25K cities.

ShopClues’ recent developments:

  • Earlier this month, competing with fast paced ecommerce marketplace players, ShopClues introduced two new categories on its platform viz Kids store and Gifting store.
  • In August, ShopClues launched a new campaign “The Bulk Factory” wherein merchants/SME’s can buy products in wholesale quantities and at wholesale rates. Besides, the company also made enriched its customer experience by bringing on board names like Numero Uno, Raymond, Ritu Kumar, ColorPlus and more.
  • In June this year, the company announced a financing platform for its vendors by the name “Capital Wings”, to offer working capital to vendors at highly competitive rates and without collateral to enable merchants scale their business.
  • In May, ShopClues partnered with DHgate, international online wholesale marketplace which connects Chinese wholesalers to international buyers, to leverage the combined brand synergies and create a solid niche for products in the country.
