HealthTech startup Practo has announced its foray into personal care and fitness segment. The company has now set its eye on aggregating spas, salons and fitness centres looking beyond doctors and diagnostic labs. This comes eight months after it acquired FitHo Wellness Services Pvt. Ltd, a Delhi-based fitness and health solutions firm.
Practo Technologies Pvt. Ltd that started in 2008, currently has over 2 Mn doctors on its platform and is present in over 35 cities in India.
According to a company’s spokesperson, the categories have been live on Practo’s website since early December. “We are currently testing out various models. These tests are being run in multiple cities and of course at launch we will have a reasonably large footprint in India,” added the spokesperson.
The company currently earns a major portion of its revenue from Practo Ray, a practice management software and Practice Reach, which is a sponsored listing service for hospitals and doctors. Even though the move will help in gaining traction among the users, the resultant boost in revenue might take some time as the listing and discovery is free for institutions and consumers.
Last year in August, Practo had raised over $90 Mn in its Series C round led by Tencent, Sofina & Others. The company had also acquired Qikwell and Insta Health last year. Besides, the company also expanded its operations to Malaysia and Indonesia.
