NASSCOM And Andhra Pradesh Government Set Up 10K Startup Warehouse In Vizag

IT industry body National Association of Software & Services (NASSCOM), in partnership with the Government of Andhra Pradesh, inaugurated NASSCOM Startup Warehouse in Vizag, today.

The set up is done in a bid to create a world-class technology startup ecosystem in the state. At the warehouse, technology entrepreneurs with innovative ideas will be nurtured, mentored as well as funded by venture capitalists and investors. The Startup Warehouse will be located at Sunrise Tower in Vizag.

The NASSCOM Startup Warehouse will provide

  1. Co-working space for startups to be housed for 6 month incubation period
  2. Co-working space for entrepreneurs to use on a daily/weekly basis
  3. A well-equipped community events space available for meet-ups & workshops

The entrepreneurs will have a chance to enhance their entrepreneurial skills as well as improve upon their marketing abilities by way of connect sessions, early stage mentoring and access to resources from Google, Amazon, Microsoft, IBM cloud, Kotak, etc.

Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, said, “To create a more vibrant startup ecosystem in the region we need partnerships like these which help in encouraging the local entrepreneurs. NASSCOM is doing tremendously well in support of the startup ecosystem in the country. We need such collaborations in every city to boost this ecosphere.”

Prior to this, in January 2016, continuing its endeavour to promote entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country, NASSCOM 10,000 Startup Programme, in partnership with the Government of Telangana, inaugurated the T-Hub NASSCOM Startup Warehouse in Hyderabad.

The 10,000 Startups Programme has initiated Startup Warehouses across different states to enable startups and entrepreneurs to work together and share their experiences. Since the inception of Startup Warehouses, 140 startups have got incubated so far across several cities; 25 startups out of those have got funded.

The first startup warehouse was set up in Bangalore in 2013, followed by other cities including Kolkata, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Kochi, Gurgaon and Hyderabad.
