Online job portal Mykindofjob has raised $1 Mn in funding from Mayank Shah and Shreyans Shah in its Angel round.
The funding will be used to expand its presence in more Indian cities and to increase team size. It will also be used to scale up its technology.
Mumbai-based Mykindofjob was founded in 2014 by Tanzeer Reen and Ankit Bansal. It claims to address the needs of the working segment that wants to work on their own terms. It caters to students looking at internship options to mothers looking for working from home or part time options, to retired people who want to work for 5–10 years but need some flexibility in their jobs.
It offers an interactive web platform where registered users and potential employers can communicate with each other. It claims to have 100K registered users within the last one year of its operations and has 800 companies on board.
Earlier this month, online jobs and career community for women, SHEROES acquired Gharkamai, an online platform that assists professional women to find work opportunities from home. Prior to that, it had acquired health counselling platform LoveDoctor.
The portal currently faces major competition from Naukri.com and LinkedIn. Other similar startups in this space include Careesma, Glassdoor, TimesJobs, Iimjobs etc.
