Bangalore-based mobile technology startup, Mubble, has raised an undisclosed amount in Series A round of funding from Accel Partners.

The funds will mainly be utilized in the expansion of its tech team and product design.

Founded in 2013 by former Bharti Airtel executive Ashwin Ramaswamy, Pranav Jha and Raghvendra Varma, Mubble is a smartphone app that helps users track their telecom spending as well as mobile data usage, using an in-built self-learning analytics tool.

Mubble’s self-learning, offline-capable and on-device text analytics technologies enables data crunching on the phone and reduces the need to send data out of smartphones to central servers.

By giving users one-click access to their telecom spend and mobile data usage information across SIM cards, Mubble aims to be the trusted advisor of masses to help them make a fear-free entry into the digital world.

Here is a quick tour of the app:

Since inception, the company has clocked close to 1 Mn downloads. The app is available in multiple Indian languages, with nearly half of its users using Mubble in their mother tongue instead of English. Ramaswamy said “Mubble is not only Made In India, it is truly Made-For-India”

Speaking on the development, Subrata Mitra, partner at Accel Partners said, “The app ecosystem in India is evolving rapidly; we think Mubble’s “data-guard” will enable the new-generation smartphone users to navigate this ecosystem predictably!”

Just last month, Mubble had secured an undisclosed amount of funding from Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani.
