Mobikon, a customer engagement and marketing platform for restaurants, has raised an undisclosed amount in funding from Life.SREDA, a Singapore-based Fintech-focused venture capital firm specializing in Series A, B and C investments and Qualgro, an ASEAN fund focused on technology, education, healthcare and logistics.
The funding is a part of Life.SREDA’s Accelerator Programme. Mobikon was chosen among 8 tech startups under the programme in July this year.
Mobikon plans to use the funds to invest in creating new tech infrastructure and provide restaurants with better products and faster upgrades. The company is planning to spread its arms across international markets, open office in Jakarta and conduct strategic hiring across UAE.
The company is also planning to launch a completely new platform focused on Restaurant Social Engagement, which promises to be a breakthrough for the restaurant industry.
Samir Khadepaun, Co-founder and CEO of Mobikon said, “This strategic funding will boost Mobikon’s expansion in South East Asia. Qualgro and Life.SREDA, besides the funding, brings in a huge network of mPOS and Cloud POS players which will help Mobikon to scale quickly. We are very excited to have them on board and will surely help us to further strengthen the market leadership positioning in Customer Engagement & Marketing.”
Mobikon was founded by Samir Khadepaun and Salil Khamkar. The company raised funds from Jungle Ventures in July this year. In August 2015, it acquired Triibe, a Singapore-based customer engagement platform for restaurants. Post the acquisition, the company’s revenues from international markets have grown from 40% to 55% and is expected to reach 65% by the end of the financial year, according to a press release. The startup is targeting 200% growth this year.
