M-TAXI, an on-demand app-based 2-Wheeler taxi service, has raised an undisclosed amount of angel funding led by Mandeep Singh and Jairaj Singh.

M-TAXI’s advisory board consists of entrepreneurs like Rudra Dalmia, Rajnish Kumar & Ritesh Srivastava, who bring expertise, guidance and growth. The startup is scaling up by hiring talents from across the industry.

Launched in February earlier this year by Arunabh Madhur, M-TAXI is, as the company say, ‘A Personal Time Saver’ that enables the use of technology in creating efficient, safe and secure 2-Wheeler taxi services. It’s aiming to make last mile connectivity simpler for Indian commuters.

M-Taxi has started its service in Gurgaon plying from  metro stations and has plans to spread across NCR in the next phase.

Passengers can track the rider through the app before hopping-on, and pay online or with cash for the service. Pricing is reasonable with an initial charge of INR 25 for the first three kilometers and INR 5 for every subsequent kilometer.

“Your Personal Time Saver, M-TAXI is perennial, always on services. Also, I would like to state that we lay a strong focus on safety and hygiene of both riders and passengers. All our riders go through background verification, are trained on behavioral, efficiency aspects and also on hygiene and safety. Passengers are assured of riding with a uniformed pilot and are provided with a hair cap, helmet, and wet wipe for an optimal conveyance experience. We are excited to be the first in this segment, and hope to utilize our learnings for growth and success,” said Arunabh Madhur, founder of M-TAXI.

M-TAXI is a ‘socially responsible business’ that generates employment opportunities for both men and women as pilots to sustain livelihood and growth, while engaging in a service that helps commuters reach their destinations quicker and safe.

Recently, in this space, a Gurgaon-based company 74 BC Technologies Pvt Ltd has launched its bike-as-a-taxi service under the brand name “Baxi”. The bikes offer affordable last-mile connectivity to offices, colleges, schools and residential areas, from metro and bus stations.

2 wheeler taxi services are popular in many countries across the world, like Cambodia, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Brazil, Cameroon, China, Nigeria, and Sweden.
