From Agritech To Client Computing – Meet The Startups From The First Batch Of Intel India Maker Lab

Technology company Intel India hosted its first ‘Maker Lab Startup Conclave’ and ‘Demo Showcase’ in its Bengaluru campus.

The ‘Intel India Maker Lab’ was set up about a year ago to help startups accelerate their hardware and systems innovation. It offers infrastructure, technology, tools, and mentorship support.

The first batch had 17 startups in the areas of education, sports, health, agriculture, BFSI, and e-governance, across IoT, cloud, and client computing. Nine have already launched their products in the market; five have their products ready and are moving to customer trial stage, while the remaining three are in the design stage.

The Intel India Maker Lab supported seven startups that came out of the Department of Science & Technology (DST) – Intel `Innovate For Digital India’ Challenge.

Nivruti Rai, general manager, Intel India & Vice President of the Platform Engineering Group at Intel Corp. said, “Intel has a strong and consistent focus on accelerating innovation, systems design and entrepreneurship in India. With over 15 years of relentless commitment to research and development, we continue to build a community of innovators in India.  Intel is the catalyst of fostering innovation in the country and we see a lot of enthusiasm in this space through various programs that we are associated with. Innovation is the key ingredient for making the Digital India vision a reality.”
