Deloitte’s Tohmatsu Venture Support Invites Applications From Indian IoT Startups

Deloitte’s subsidiary, Tohmatsu Venture Support (Deloitte Japan) is inviting applications for the first time from Indian IoT startups for its accelerator programme in Japan. The selection process will commence in September, and 10 selected startups will visit Japan this October. Accommodation and travel will be provided free of cost.

The applications will be evaluated by the IoT Acceleration Consortium (ITAC), and will be sent to the concerned authorities.

IoT Acceleration Consortium (ITAC) is a framework between government, and academia for IoT business promotion in Japan and over 2000 participating companies. Its acceleration lab helps in creating new IoT projects.

ITAC will provide financial, regulatory and business matching support to the selected Indian startups free of charge this September. It will also offer free exhibition in CEATEC on 4th to 7th October, 2016 and business opportunities with Japanese companies. CEATEC is an IT and electronics exhibition in Japan, and claims to have more than 130K visitors.

Tokyo-based Tohmatsu’s network currently consists of over 2,500 startups, 500 Japanese firms and conglomerates, VCs and government ministries. The company organises accelerator programmes in Japan, and proposes startups to connect with Japanese investors, and over a hundred mentors. Additionally, it helps ventures to develop business strategies, seek funding, and negotiate IPO and M&A agreements.

The member committees in the IoT consortium include Accenture, Future Architect, Intel, Microsoft, Siemens, Google, Cisco, Hitachi, Amazon, IBM and Bosch among others.
