Foodtech giant zomato’s event vertical, Zomato Live Entertainment, has announced that the fourth edition of its food and live entertainment festival Zomaland will commence on November 4 in Pune.
Zomaland will take place in eight cities – Pune, Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata – in the latest edition.
Zomaland is a carnival hosted by Zomato Live that brings together food, performances by artists from across the country and other experiences.
Zomaland 2023-24 will start with Pune and after which it will be hosted in Ahmedabad, Delhi, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bengaluru. While the event line-up for Pune is yet to be announced, tickets are already available on Zomato’s food delivery application and Paytm Insider.
This year, the ticket price for Zomaland starts at INR 599, while last year it started at INR 499.
Commenting on the previous editions of Zomaland, Zeenah Vilcassim, CEO of Zomato Live, said, “The previous seasons of Zomaland charmingly captured the heart of each city and this year, we are gearing up to take it to new heights. It is a true celebration of food, music, and culture and we can’t wait to entertain and delight our audiences as alway.”
Zomato Live, in a statement, said that the latest season of the carnival will host over 60 establishments in the food space.
Zomato Live claims that in the previous season of Zomaland, it witnessed over 175K footfall with participation from more than 400 restaurants across seven cities.
Live events have emerged as an important business opportunity for Zomato over the past few years. While announcing its financial numbers for the first quarter of FY24, Zomato said it was mulling spinning off the ‘Going Out’ category, which would include Zomato’s dining out and live events businesses, into a separate app.
It must be noted that Zomato reported its maiden profitable quarter, with a profit after tax of INR 2 Cr in Q1 FY24.
This has also given a boost to the company’s stock price and its shares are trading over 75% higher year to date. The company’s shares touched a 52-week high intraday for the second consecutive day on Wednesday and were trading 2.6% higher at INR 108.85 on the BSE at 03:15 PM IST.
