Price Comparison Startup YouTellMe Acquires Mumbai Based Priceburp

Youtellme.com, an online price comparison and product discovery portal owned by Mumbai based YouTellMe Media Pvt. Ltd. has acquired Mumbai-based coupons and deals portal Priceburp.com.

As per the deal, the operational team of Priceburp will fully integrate with the YouTellMe team to populate its merchant coupons and deals section. Youtellme aims to add product prices, coupons and deals from over 500+ online stores in India over the next 6 months. Priceburp had raised about $100,000 seed funding from Dutch early stage investor Bright Ventures, whereas Youtellme had also raised $100K Bright Ventures.

Commenting on the acquisition decision“, Shailendra Dave, Co- Founder & CEO, YouTellMe said, “We are delighted to announce that the decision to acquire the extensive coupon listings as well as the talent and experience of Priceburp team have been confirmed by management of both the companies. This acquisition will make YouTellMe one of the most complete online destinations in India for money-saving product offers, coupons and deals.”

Launched in 2014, YouTellMe.com helps users to discover products and compare prices of products from over online stores such as Flipkart.com, Myntra, Jabong, Amazon, PayTM, Snapdeal etc. The company lists more than 4 Bn products in over 800 categories– from mobile, electronics and fashion to books, heathcare and kitchen products.

Dave also stated his intention of raising Series A funding in the range of $1– $1.5 Mn over the next few months, keeping in mind the growth potential of the the scalable platform.

Startups including mysmartprice, pricedekho and smartprix are also dealing in the same space.
