Stay Ahead With Daily News & Analysis on India’s Tech & Startup Economy

In the last one year, Indian startup ecosystem has gone through a massive shift. From large funding rounds to hot segments (like quick commerce) of last year, the year 2023 is more about the rise of deeptech segments, sustainable growth and more.

But one thing which has not changed is the hunger and the passion for growing and bringing ground-breaking innovations to the core. And to help our readers stay updated with the latest product frameworks and changing market dynamics, and learn from the leaders, we are back with the third edition of The Makers Summit 2023.

This year, India’s Largest Product Conference plans to focus on decoding the potential of sectors such as spacetech, EV, gaming and agritech 2.0, among others, and the role they will play in strengthening the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem in the years to come.

This is because the trends in the Indian startup ecosystem have gone through a paradigm shift lately. The country’s spacetech sector is a case in point.

With Hyderabad-based spacetech startup Skyroot Aerospace becoming the first private Indian company to launch a rocket, Vikram-S, into space in November last year, India today stands on an equal footing, if not ahead, with its western counterparts. Further, the Indian commercial space tech market is expected to offer a huge addressable opportunity of more than $77 Bn by 2030

Similarly, the EV market grew 223% in 2022, adding around 48,000 EVs, according to market analyst firm Canalys. Inc42 predicts that the original equipment manufacturers (OEM) in the space are all set to witness some of the best times in the years to come, piggybacking on the massive adoption of electric vehicles.

The country’s agritech sector is also on an upward spiral. The key reason behind this is the increasing number of startups are joining the space with sustainable tech solutions to combat the farming woes.

The examples above mirror the fact that the Indian startup ecosystem is going through some of the most interesting times, one in which investors are naturally attracted to the visible growth prospects that many startups in these segments offer, despite the ongoing funding winter.

In our earnest attempt to unlock the opportunities hidden in plain sight across these sectors, we have set the stage for the third edition of The Makers Summit (TMS 2023).

TMS 2023 will bring groundbreaking product leaders from gaming, fintech, spacetech, edtech and geotech to discuss what it will take to make these sectors thrive and their impact on the overall startup ecosystem.

The two-day virtual conference, which will be held on March 24 and 25, will see the participation of key product veterans across industries. Over 50 founders, product and growth leaders will decode the product strategy of India’s fastest-growing startups.

The third edition of TMS will foster insightful conversations, masterclasses and panel discussions from the best minds of the product startup ecosystem.

For The Makers Summit, Inc42 has partnered with edtech giant BYJU’S, startup incubator Venture Catalysts, AI-powered chatbot startup Introbot and an online community platform for product makers The Product Folks.

Product Leaders Will Deep Dive Into Insightful Themes

Given that deeptech products will shape industry trends in the years to come, our key speakers will decode the segment further for product leaders and early-stage startups.

Similarly, Nitesh Mittersain, the founder and CEO of Nazara Technologies, will talk about India’s gaming industry, focussing on how 5G and Web3 will change the gaming landscape for startups in this space. Further, he will also talk about how VFX can unlock the full potential of this burgeoning space.

The two-day summit will also witness Rohan Verma of MapmyIndia speak about his startup’s product playbook for fighting the tech giants. Bhavin Turakhia, the founder & CEO of Zeta and Flock will spell out what ‘fin’ and ‘tech’ mean in the Indian context while highlighting the impact of technology on the financial sector. The session will be moderated by Karan Sharma of Avendus Capital.

The summit also aims to unsolve the EV paradox. Given that the EV space in India will grow multifold in the years to come, startups will need to focus on developing sustainable monetisation measures and building strategies beyond charging infrastructure.

Our signature masterclasses, candid fireside chats and in-depth panel discussions will give attendees insights into how they can fuel the growth of their business by multifold. At the TMS 2023, we will explore rivetting themes, including the types and impacts of product positioning by citing real-life examples, how founders can take their startup from 0 to 100 by choosing the right data tech stack, the changing face of B2B ecommerce and how homegrown business can build products for the world and many more.
