Are you a traveller ? Or is it difficult to get a room for stay and good food to eat ? Well, you don’t have to worry anymore, because Global cab aggregator Uber, food delivery platform Foodpanda, and budget hotel chain ZO Rooms have all decided to collaborate only to make sure that travellers have an amazing experience, when away from home.

Saurabh Kochhar, MD, Foodpanda said “This is a strategic collaboration for us as the three have come together only to ensure that travellers have an amazing and relaxing experience, when away from home. As the service industry is continuously converging their focus towards rigorous customer experience, with this move the trio we’re addressing a traveler’s primary concerns, i.e. stay, travel and food.”

The partnership will allow travellers a free ride up to INR 500 and 50% off coupons on Foodpanda orders. Travellers will also receive 100% cashback upon checking in to any one of the 150+ properties ZO Rooms – which currently holds in 13 cities.

On this huge decision, Abhishek Shivhare, director of strategic partnerships at ZO Rooms said “We are extremely excited about this three way strategic collaboration as it has all the ingredients to ensure that customers have a delightful time when they travel. Technology is ensuring that travellers can now stay, eat, and ride at the click of a button.”

For few who do not know about ZO Rooms yet, It is a chain of premium budget hotels that offers comfortable and reliable rooms. The brand has been built to cater to the needs and tastes of the modern travellers, such as – free breakfast, good Wi-Fi etc. When you book via the ZO Rooms app, on check-in, you will receive 100% ZO cashback. This is like getting a free stay!

However, in a recent incident, ZO Rooms rivals hotel room aggregation startup OYO Rooms have recently claimed that ZO was based on copied data taken from its own former employees who had left to join Zostel, resulting in a stay order issued by the Delhi High Court two weeks ago barring Zostel from using “confidential information and software” of OYO Rooms.

Meanwhile, couple of weeks ago Uber who had announced a global tie-up with restaurant listing platform Zomato, has also climbed on board to provide the cheapest AC ride in town. Riding an Uber means, no more hailing a taxi or bargaining with autowalas. One has to just download the Uber app, press a button and a comfortable ride will arrive at your location. Once you check-in into your ZO Room, you will receive a free ride up to INR 500.

Karun Arya, Uber’s communications lead for South Asia and India said “Uber is all about providing seamless experiences at the push of a button. We are excited to partner with ZO Rooms and now Foodpanda to provide travellers unparalleled convenience on the go.”

Our Take

It’s amazing to see such tie ups which help the end consumer in multiple ways come up. Who could have thought that travel could get a lore more cheaper! All we can hope is for more companies to have strategic tie ups in different domains which would help the consumer tremendously.
