What would you say If I told you, you could listen to amazing music from up and coming bands that you probably might not have heard of before.
Do you hate cutting your hair short? Is head banging your favorite pastime? Are you a noob guitarist? Do you fancy yourself as an amazing drummer, who makes the ladies go wild? Do you dream about putting a bullet through Bieber’s head?
If you nodded to any of these, then read on we have something special for you.
Tunepatrol, a social music discovery platform whos aim is to develop and connect a thriving community of indie musicians and their fans just kicked out their beta version and have gone live with their platform.
Inc42 had featured an article about TunePatrol a few months ago, read it here.
We have now approached them for an encore, to learn of their latest developments.
Inc42: How was the journey through the many iterations of TunePatrol’s UI/UX?
Haha, quite maddening actually. We are really hard on ourselves when it comes to design so it gave us all many sleepless nights. We finally decided in this iteration to do the entire thing in house, it was really frustrating to wait for even small changes when you work with freelancers or design firms, but it all has ended well I guess.
Inc42: How is the response/traction so far? Any stats or user feedbacks you’d like to share?
The response has been pretty awesome, thanks to all the people who liked the new design and shared it all over their social profiles, our servers burnt out and we had to upgrade it.
I was personally pretty happy when Kulin from Wishberg and Santosh from Ayojak liked the website, these guys are building awesome products themselves and I look up to them a lot.
Inc42: We missed this the last time, how was the experience of getting funded? How has it helped you grow?
Shocking to be honest, I really didn’t think people would invest in the vision of 20 year old undergrads who still haven’t graduated! But thankfully being a part of the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, organizing Conquest and graduating from BITS Pilani’s New Venture Creation Program had given the team a lot of exposure to the startup ecosystem, so we knew how to go about things, we also got a lot of help from The Hatch (our incubator) and BITSAA (our alumni network).
Inc42: Aspiring Musicians/Artists: If I want my bands music to feature on Tunepatrol’s platform, how do I go about it?
As of now we only host artists who have good quality original music, it doesn’t matter if it is just one single, but it has to be yours. If they have this then they can reach out to us on [email protected], or on twitter @TunePatrol or send us a message on our Facebook page!
Inc42: I really liked a band/artist on TunePatrol and would like to offer them a gig, is there any way to do that yet?
Yes! Just let us know ([email protected] again) and we will put you in touch with the artist. We are also working on something to make this process better 🙂
Inc42: Are you working on any other cool stuff that we might get to see soon?
We are building up the artist profile over the next few months, you should also see a way to buy the songs on TunePatrol soon!
Inc42: Any other inputs?
We are currently working out of Jaaga, and I would personally love to catch up with any startup founders, especially from startups that have some synergy with us, I am available on [email protected] or on twitter @bbharadwaj
