Real-Time Traffic Update Startup Birds Eye Systems Raises Funding From Qualcomm

Technology startup Birds Eye Systems, which offers real-time traffic and travel information for Indian cities under its brand Traffline has raised undisclosed amount in funding led by Qualcomm Ventures.

Traffline is a live traffic tracker app to beat the problem of traffic. Available on Android, iOS and BlackBerry 10, it shows real time traffic information and updates 24×7. People can instantly check current traffic conditions in their area for the best route and avoid traffic jams.

It had raised has its first round of institutional funding from Matrix Partners India. The startup plans to use the raised funds in product development, marketing and user acquisition, multi-city expansion etc.

“Getting access to accurate and real-time traffic, travel and local information is a big problem for millions of Indian commuters in major cities. We want to address this problem using an approach tailored to Indian ethos and travel conditions,” said Briraj Vaghani and Ravi Khemani, co-founders, Birds Eye Private Systems.
