Startup Events To Attend This Week: Retail Technology Conclave, The Advantage Dialogue, And More

Here is Inc42’s latest edition of startup events coming up this week.

But before we dive into what’s in store for this week, let’s catch up on the success stories of the past week.

During the FinTechX Conference hosted by the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), the Maharashtra government announced that the state has become the first in the country to implement a comprehensive fintech policy and that it envisages to “have 500 fintech startups who are enabled, stable, have successful sizeable funding and are going to make India and Maharashtra proud.”

Further, Inc42 and the IAMAI also launched the list of Top 30 Emerging Fintech Startups in India in segments like microlending, SME lending, insurtech, digital payments, etc.

Meanwhile, the Massive Earth Summit 2018 in New Delhi on June 6 saw participation from over 300 startup founders, policymakers, corporates, and investors. The stakeholders, who discussed innovations in biofuels, mobility, forests, air, and water, are expected to trigger an investment in excess of $2.5 Bn in the immediate future. During the event, Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma and venture capitalist Shailesh Vickram Singh joined hands to launch a $150 Mn environment protection-focussed fund, GoMassive.

Retail Technology Conclave

Advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), drones and advanced analytics, coupled with the Internet of Things (IoT) are helping make retail businesses smarter than one can possibly imagine. Digital Governance for Growth: Using Data to Drive India Forward

‘Digital Governance for Growth: Using Data to Drive India Forward’ is a conference being organised by CKS, CENJOWS, and The Dialogue to analyse the successes and challenges of the Digital India programme, big data analytics, and its potential to drive growth. The conference will identify challenges and solutions going forward, analyse the opportunity for storing data in India, and opportunities for setting up data infrastructure in India.

With its simple 20×20 presentation format, the PechaKucha Night at 91Springboard BKC will have each speaker sharing their stories with the audience through 20 images, shown for 20 seconds each.
