Last week, the student-run India-focused business conference Wharton India Economic Forum (WIEF) successfully hosted the sixth annual Wharton India Startup Challenge (WISC). The 10 best startups were selected out of over 550 applications and got an opportunity to pitch to investors.
The challenge was judged by India Angel Network cofounder,Padmaja Ruparel; Omidyar Network partner Siddharth Nautiyal; Accel Partners principal, Prayank Swaroop; Matrix Partners vice president Rajinder Balaraman and Sequoia Capital India partner, Sakshi Chopra.
The event, which is aimed at encouraging and supporting entrepreneurs across the country, had earlier seen participation from startups such as Bizongo, Zoomcar, Zostel, and Detect Technologies, among many others in its earlier editions.

Business Women Conference
The women entrepreneur initiative Uprise India is all set to host its Business Women Conference this week.
With this conference, Uprise India aims to provide the important tools and resources needed for helping the country’s women entrepreneurs expand their career scopes.
Uprise India is looking to train the women entrepreneurs in areas lacking in their respective businesses. During the event, the participating women will get a chance to attend sessions on personal branding, crisis management, and financial literacy.

NASSCOM International SME Conclave 2019
The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) will be hosting the NASSCOM International SME Conclave this week.
As the country steps into a digital future, this event is aimed at understanding the latest innovations and exploring ideas to utilise their power in future.
With a theme of ‘Future Is Now’, the event will bring together all participants, visitors, delegators, and attendees to work together to develop the small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) space on a global scale.
Over the two-day event, participants will get an opportunity to attend tech adda sessions, discussions on deep tech, technology showcase and expo, and country-specific networking sessions, among others.

Inc42 Founders Meetup
Beginning the year of 2019 on a positive note, Inc42 is set to host the fifth edition of its Founders Meetup revolving around the idea of Startup Resolutions for 2019. In this edition, about 50 startup founders and hustlers are expected to participate in an evening of networking where they will discuss their goals for 2019.
The agenda continues to remain sharing of knowledge, discussing the challenges, and interacting with peers.
