Delhi-based mobile marketplace for crowdsource work, SquadRun has raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding from a group of investors including Amit Ranjan of Slideshare, Deepinder Goyal, founder of Zomato, Zishaan Hayath, founder of Toppr and Girish Khera, cofounder at Scientific Animations.
Angels from Powai Lake Ventures also participated in this round funding.
SquadRun works on the principle that everyone has a certain amount of spare or “down” time every day time spent travelling, waiting, or otherwise unengaged. This time has value for both users and businesses if they have a platform to appropriately engage it. It is a ‘gamified’ puzzle app that allows users to make money by completing simple tasks on their phone. On the other side, it allows businesses and brands to outsource work effectively.
A few use cases that SquadRun’s mobile army is being used for Data moderation, tagging, categorization, comparision, etc.

“We mainly compete with inhouse teams and BPOs but our high quality distributed workforce, strong algorithms and workflows enables us to be much cheaper, faster, flexible, and better quality!”, says Kanika, the cofounder of Squadrun.
Launched just 6 months back, SquadRun has already worked with over 7000 users and 35+ diverse businesses. The raised funds will go in product development and expanding team.
“Crowdsourcing can efficiently solve several problems for businesses. As an example an ecommerce marketplace uses SquadRun’s army for curation of content uploaded by sellers, moderation of user generated product reviews, audit of their customer support conversations, User Experience testing of their product features, generation of relevant tags for products to improve search relevance, etc.” Apurv Agrawal, founder and CEO, SquadRun.
The startup was accelerated by 91springboard which also advised them in the fundraise.
SquadRun was founded by Apurv Agrawal along with Kanika Jain and Vikas Gulati.
