While maintaining the convenience of online shopping, Myntra has also brought in the personalised experience of offline shopping on its platform with the launch of its new “Alterations” feature. This new feature allows users to fix up appointments and get clothes, ordered from Myntra, altered at the customers’ doorstep with no extra cost.

For this, the company has partnered with 200 local tailors, which will not only help the platform enhance its service portfolio, but will help the local players generate additional income and grow their businesses. The service is currently limited to four cities — Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Kolkata.

Amar Nagaram, head of Myntra Jabong, said, “Launching alteration services on Myntra replicates a key offline phenomenon that further bridges the gap between online and offline shopping experiences for customers. It is aimed at making online shopping more convenient while reducing returns due to size and fit issues.”

The company will get to test out the feature during Myntra’s ‘End of Reason Sale’, which will be held this month. Myntra is also hoping to gain more traction on their portal platform by bringing in users, who have their reservations about ecommerce, with the new feature.

For the initial phase, the service will be limited to alterations for jeans and trousers for men. Then eventually, it will include size alterations for women including products such as kurtas.

The customers can opt for the alteration service after the order has been delivered and it will be picked up by the tailors from the customer’s doorstep. The tailors will also take the necessary measurements at the time of pick up and deliver them to the customer within 24 hours to 48 hours.

To become an associate with Myntra, the tailors would be required to have the necessary equipment at a convenient location and the expertise to execute the alterations according to the predefined standard. Myntra will also be training the tailers to cater to the requests and enhancing customer engagement skills.

In September, Myntra had also decided to get local kirana stores from Tier 2 cities to act as last-mile delivery agents. With this, the company wanted to ensure faster and better delivery standards in the company. In addition to this, Myntra is also looking to get exclusive brands on its platform to attract users from outside metropolitan cities.
