SoftBank Group International has appointed Lydia Bly Jett on the Board of ecommerce major Snapdeal, as an additional director. The appointment came in two months after the resignation of Softbank COO Jonathan Bullock, from the Snapdeal and Ola Boards. Lydia has an MBA from Stanford. She has earlier worked with companies like M/C Partners, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan.
Snapdeal’s Chandan Gupta Joins Wydr
Gurugram-based wholesale ecommerce major Wydr has appointed Chandan Gupta as VP, Engineering. He will be working at Wydr’s Gurugram corporate office.
In his early career stint as a tech CEO, Chandan bootstrapped Phone Warrior Inc., a social mobile app company, from ground zero to 6.5 Mn app installs globally. Phone Warrior later got acquired by Snapdeal in Oct 2015. After the acquisition, Chandan was working as Senior Director of Technology with Snapdeal for around one and a half years before joining Wydr.
He had also worked in two startups – Rambhai.com and Visinor Technologies. Chandan holds B.Sc and MCA degrees.
Ola’s Engineering Director Joins Razorpay
Bengaluru-basedd online payments platform Razorpay has appointed Ola’s Amit Saini as VP, Engineering to oversee the growing technology function.
At Ola, Amit was the Director of Engineering, leading a team of 40 members who build Ola Money.
With over 15 years of experience in product development, building and leading high performance engineering teams, Amit specialises in solving several big data use cases and delivering many end-to-end world class products. His appointment is intended to further the growth and product development of Razorpay’s technology leadership in the industry.
Amit has earlier worked as a technologist with Microsoft, IBM & Apigee, building software products in the areas of ecommerce, web services management, big-data & analytics. Amit also co-founded, SkillCafe, a startup that focusses on analysing huge data sets in order to provide insightful career growth recommendations to candidates.
