This week one of the most interesting happenings in the startup ecosystem was Emurgo Blockchain Academy call to 200 institutions to fill in blockchain talent gap. The programmes have been designed to target the need to upskill working professionals on blockchain technology.
Interestingly, jobs in the blockchain sector are in high demand in India and Bengaluru is the leading city for those seeking job opportunities in the blockchain sector in India. It is followed by Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, and Chennai, making up the top five destinations for blockchain careers in the country.
Also, this week reports surfaced that ex-Paytm vice president Sonia Dhawan, who had been accused of bribery and blackmail, had joined back Paytm after being out on bail. However, Paytm later announced that “no accused is joining before the court case is over”.

PlaySimple Games Appoints Nitin Dhawan As Vice President
Bengaluru-based mobile social gaming company PlaySimple Games has appointed Nitin Dhawan as VP – Data Science and Analytics.
Dhawan comes with an experience of over 13 years in product management, data science and analytics and served as an independent consultant for Product Analytics, Marketing, Sales and Operations functions in domains like Gaming, Travel, ecommerce, Mobile Wallets, Transport, Consumer Web and Insurance.
Prior to his consulting stint, he was at Zynga and was responsible for managing multiple games like FarmVille 2, Bubble Safari, New IP, YoVille, Empires & Allies.
In his new role, Dhawan will take a leadership role under the guidance of Siddharth Jain, Cofounder and CEO, PlaySimple Games. He will build innovative strategies for development of exciting and competitive word games that will soon be added to the existing portfolio.
Additionally, from the perspective of product touch points, Nitin will be responsible to build an engaging brand and play a pivotal role in scaling up the existing games. Under his leadership, PlaySimple Games aims to strengthen the team and expand its partner network to be on the path of innovation and growth.
Ganesh Natarajan Joins The Board Of SP Robotics Maker Lab
Dehradun-based SP Robotics Maker Lab announced that Dr. Ganesh Natarajan, former CEO of Aptech Computer Education, will be joining its board of directors.
With an experience of over 45 years in the industry, as the founder and chairman of 5F World, Dr. Natarajan is one of the early pioneers of the franchising model of education centres and holds extensive experience in growing high-potential companies into domain leaders.
SP Robotics Maker Lab specialises in providing innovative, hands-on education about latest technologies such as Robotics, IoT (Internet of Things), and Virtual Reality etc. to students of ages between 7 and 16 years.
Along with Dr. Natrajan, Dr. Uma Ganesh, Chairperson of GTT and Skills Alpha is also joining the team as a Chief Mentor. She is an expert in Education, National and International franchising with leadership experience in NIIT, APTECH, Zee Education. She will be closely working with the founders in franchise management and success.
