We bring to you the latest edition of Movers and Shakers of this week.
In one of the most interesting developments of the Indian startup ecosystem’s movers and shakers, in an attempt to strengthen daily operations, marketing and verticals, Paytm Mall has made significant reshuffles.
This includes athe ppointment of Paytm Payments Bank chief financial officer (CFO) Sudhanshu Jain as the financial comptroller of Paytm Mall while Alibaba Group senior director Bharti Balakrishnan and Paytm vice-president Varun Gupta will lead its shopping categories. The company also appointed Srinivas Mothey to lead the marketplace’s marketing as a chief marketing officer.

Entrepreneur First Appoints Esha Tiwary As General Manager For India
UK-based global talent investor Entrepreneur First has launched in India with the appointment of General manager for India, Esha Tiwary.
With more than 15 years experience, she has spent several years in the startup ecosystem in India and has a deep understanding of the space. She has worked with ITC Ltd, IBM, GSF India, Myntra among others.
In her new role, she will help Entrepreneur First achieve its plans for India.
Entrepreneur First has a first-of-its-kind program model that invests in outstanding individuals, even before they have an idea and helps them find co-founders and raise seed funding. This model has been running successfully in 5 locations around the world – London, Paris, Berlin, Hong Kong and Singapore
Ravi Narayan Appointed As CEO Of T-Hub
Hyderabad-based incubator for startups T-Hub has appointed Ravi Narayan as its new chief executive officer from January 2019.
In his career of more than 20 years, Narayan has been a product engineer, entrepreneur, investor, mentor and a leader. With a marked focus on creating world-class products in India, he has been actively involved and instrumental in India’s startup ecosystem. In his several different profiles, he has chaired TiE Entrepreneurial Summit (TES), NASSCOM Product Conclave and PAN IIT Conclave. Also, he was the global director of Microsoft for Startups and helped establish accelerators and Microsoft go-to-market programmes with startups across the world.
In his new role, Narayan will lead the transformation of Telangana ecosystem to an innovation ecosystem working closely with the Government, Academia and the Industry.
MoneyTap Appoints Sunil Gulati As Credit & Risk Advisor
Bengaluru-based credit provider MoneyTap has appointed Sunil Gulati as its credit and risk advisor.
In his more than three decades of experience in the banking industry, he has worked in areas such as investment banking, corporate finance, relationship management, risk management, and corporate strategy. Gulati has held key leadership positions across several organisations, which include MD and CEO, GE Capital; group president, Yes Bank and chief risk officer, RBL Bank.
At MoneyTap, Gulati’s mentorship and expertise will help the company will further seek to enhance its credit and risk management capabilities. In addition, the company will leverage the collaboration to explore new avenues to efficiently tap the market demand and pave the way for rapid business expansion.
PaisaDukan Appoints Abhinav Kumar
Mumbai-based NBFC PaisaDukan has appointed Abhinav Kumar as digital marketing and branding advisor and shall also be in on company’s advisory board.
With over 10 years of experiences in marketing and sales, Kumar has extensive experience in Digital Marketing and is known for his role at Trivago. He leads country development for India at Trivago, has been a freelance consultant among other roles.
In his new role, Kumar will help the company in bringing digital revolution in Peer-to-Peer (P2P) lending industry.
Chandramouli Godhandaraman Joins Hiver
Bengaluru-based SaaS company Hiver has appointed Chandramouli Godhandaraman as its head of engineering.
With nearly 15 years of experience, Godhandaraman has worked as the lead program manager for Amazon Prime India. Prior to Amazon, he has worked on key product solutions with leading tech companies such as Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Amdocs, among others.
In his new role, he will be responsible for driving the company’s technology strategy and building Hiver’s next generation suite of products. He will work closely with founders Nitesh Nandy and Niraj Ranjan Rout in building up and scaling the company’s fast-growing technology team.
Phaneesh Murthy Joins Value Point Systems’ Board
Value Point Systems has appointed IT industry veteran Phaneesh Murthy as an additional director on its board.
With more than three decades of experiences in the IT industry, Murthy has been a pioneer in sales and marketing, product solutions, and structuring and managing outsourcing deals.
He has been associated with multiple leading IT companies in the capacity of director, president and CEO and has led their transformational journey. Before joining Value Point Systems, Phaneesh Murthy served as the Chief Executive Officer and President at iGATE Corporation where he led the turnaround effort, divested the staffing businesses, streamlined the company’s delivery model, completed a large acquisition financed with public bonds and increased the value of the company by a factor of 30 over 10 years. Prior to this, he served as the Director of Infosys.
In his role at Value Point, Murthy will guide the board of directors of Value Point Systems in creating a global vision and strategic roadmap to transform, from an IT infrastructure products and Services company into a leader in digital transformation solutions and higher value services.
Vakrangee Appoints Anil Khanna As MD And Group CEO
Mumbai-based Vakrangee Limited has appointed Anil Khanna as its new managing director and group CEO effective January 25, 2019.
Khanna comes with more than four decades of experience, having worked as managing director of Blue Dart Express since 2007. He has been with the company since 1992 and under his leadership and guidance, Blue Dart was able to broaden its strategic focus from being an air express company to a full-fledged logistics organization offering a wide range of products and services, as well as Industry specific solutions in air and ground express segments.
In his new role at Vakrangee, he will play a key role in the continued growth at Vakrangee to scale it to new heights.
