Media Firm Business World has announced the first batch of ten startups for its acceleration program, BW Accelerate. This multi-city program was launched in January and is aimed to create an innovation-driven ecosystem in the country. This batch only comprises of Delhi-NCR startups and were selected from over 350 applications. The focus of the program is to make available  all relevant resources and infrastructure for start-ups within the vicinity of operations, to deliver cutting edge solutions and build large businesses.

The program concentrates on product development, customer acquisition, business expansion, networking and fundraising during its 12 week course. On this, Ashu Agrawal, Director, BW Accelerate said, “We are working to change the paradigm of start-up acceleration in the country. Our effort is to proactively enable startups to achieve greater heights.” He further added that enabling professionals outside the realm of the startup ecosystem to participate is a key focus area.

Here is a list of 10 startups which have been selected:

AddoDoc

Addodoc aims to eliminate the chaos doctors have to go through when making an appointment. They had to check up on their schedule first to do so or they had to hire assistants to perform the same. With Addodoc doctors can schedule their appointments as easy as scheduling an event in their calendar doing away with the need of an assistant. The idea was inspired when its founders’ had to face these ordeals.

Around

Around caters to all those household troubles which are usually a great deal of pain. The company provides a platform to its customers to connect them with a local service provider. The app also maps last mile delivery of service to ensure that the customers are well served. The services is backed by a team from IIM A which enables resources to upgrade skill level via collaborating with businesses in those fields.

Adurcup

Adurcup does away with those traditional ways of advertising, it doesn’t resorts to billboards and flier. It provides businesses a platform to advertise on disposables across quick service restaurants, thus providing a target audience which increases rate of engagement. Using company’s platform the advertiser can bypass any liaison with restaurant owner and can have pointed analytics as well. The startup is currently operation in the capital and has acquired over 50 outlets in two weeks.

Chalopadho

Nothing substitutes experiential learning and this startup does exactly the same. It is a virtual platform for DIY learning where it brings about an improvement in student learning. Facilitating teachers and parents, the service lets them evaluate their child’s progress. Along with this, this team of BITS Pilani and SRCC alumni has piloted at some of the private school and created multiple forms of content to enable concept absorption with ease.

Eduvision Technologies

Eduvision offers plug and play education retail intelligence solution which can be easily set up in less than 20 minutes.The platform provides upto last mile delivery of education and enables educational institutions to create an extension to the classroom. The platform empowers an educator to create a catalogue in line with their methodology of teaching. On the other hand it also offers vendors a seamless platform to demonstrate products and services to decision makers.

Instaproc

Instaproc is a business procurement assistance application which is designed to cater to businesses, allowing them flexibility to manage existing-vendors and enables new vendor participation to fulfill published requirements. Along with its existing services, the service allows comparison, evaluation across specific & non standardized products, and enables businesses with quick purchase decisions.

Mydermacy

There are various dermatological problems which people encounter but don’t pay any heed out of ignorance and sometimes out of disinterest. Mydermacy helps people in finding solutions to their daily skin and hair concerns from various dermatologists. A user can share their picture anonymously and receive personalised recommendations. The company intends to put an end to the habit of self-medication by providing people access to a doctor in their palms.

PlayYourSport

People often encounter a setback while playing their favourite sport that there are no people around with common interest in the same sport. PlayYourSport now comes to their rescue as it lets users discover people with similar sports or fitness interest in the vicinity. It is a location-based sports and fitness app which also helps in creating an event for others to participate in.

Tpot

Tpot is a food tech startup which focuses only on tea, it aims at serving authentic and varied flavours of tea. The startup currently operates 8 retail outlets across Delhi-NCR and works to grow across other locations. It provides a healthy alternative as well to those are health conscious. It has been rated among the best places for tea in the capital by Hindustan Times, Times of India and Zomato.

SurveyGamez

Business don’t get feedback as customers find it an arduous task to give one. SurveyGamez take out the boring part in feedback surveys and make them interesting and engaging with its gamification techniques, rich visuals and imagery. It helps businesses to create engaging feedback, survey, assessment and audit application. The service has been used by FMCG and various healthcare companies. The startup is founded by BITS Pilani and NSIT alumni who have expertise in graphics, media and mobile gaming etc.
