SUMMARY

Eight out of the 10 startups are from India

One startup each has been shortlisted from Nigeria and Canada

Startups working in media, sports tech, logistics, and cloud computing are selected in this cohort

US-based accelerator platform Techstars, on Sunday (January 26), announced that it has shortlisted 10 startups for the second batch of the Techstars Bangalore Accelerator, which includes eight startups from India.

Besides the Indian startups, one startup each has been shortlisted from Nigeria and Canada. The shortlisted startups operate in cloud computing, media, sports tech, and logistics and other sectors.

Notably, some of the founders of these startups have the experience of running successful businesses in the past.

“We have founders in this class who have previously amassed audiences reaching millions of consumers, founders who have successfully exited companies, and founders who’ve already bootstrapped their way to businesses that generate close to $1 million in recurring revenue,” said Ray Newal, managing director of the Techstars Bangalore Accelerator.

Founded in 2006 by David Brown, David Cohen, Brad Feld and Jared Polis, Techstars is one of the largest accelerators in the world. In 2019, Techstars had concluded the first cohort of the Bengaluru accelerator programme.
