Helion Backed Livspace Makes Its Second Acquisition; Acquires Dwll.in, A Curated Online Network Of Interior Designers

Bangalore-based, Livspace, an end-to-end home design service provider and curated marketplace for homeowners and designers, has announced the acquisition of Dwll.in, which is a curated online network of interior designers based in Mumbai. With this acquisition, Livspace aims to create the biggest catalogue of designer looks for homeowners and the largest curated community marketplace of home designers. As part of the acquisition, the co-founders of Dwll.in and the core team will join the Livspace.

With the acquisition of Dwll.in, Livspace will start building the go-to-market strategy for the western region, in addition to expanding across other metros and Tier 1 cities. Livspace is currently projecting a revenue run rate of more than $10M in months to come.

Livspace is a Bangalore-based, end-to-end home design and décor service provider co-founded by Anuj Srivastava, Ramakant Sharma and Shagufta Anurag in 2012. With Livspace, customers can discover thousands of designer looks for all types of rooms, personalise the design – by color, material, style – to their liking, and get the exact look for their homes in a matter of weeks. They are a design and technology first team and employ a combination of data science, algorithms, and industrial design to create unique experiences for homeowners and scale the job of interior designers.

Dwll.in (pronounced ‘Dwellin’) is a curated network of interior designers and home furnishing stores across India.This Mumbai-based startup was co-founded by Parikshat Hemrajani and Pankaj Poddar in 2013 with the goal to match customers with the right designer and then provide discovery and access to nearby home furnishing stores.

Dwll.in is Livspace’s second acquistion, succeding the last month acquisition of DezignUp, a dynamic design community and marketplace for consumers and design professionals. Livspace has a social community of over 320k homeowners with some of the highest user engagement in the country. Livespace raised INR 29 Cr. in Series A round of funding led by Helion Venture Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Jungle Ventures.

Earlier this month, Urban Ladder, after raising $50 Mn led by Sequoia Capital announced its plans to venture into interior designing. The home and furnishing industry is a $20 Bn industry.
