First Look at the 12 Startups in Microsoft Venture Accelerator’s 5th Batch

We got a hold of Microsoft Accelerators latest batch of startups. This time there are only 12 companies in the batch with plans to spend more time on alumni and high potential companies from India.

This batch has 3 companies from outside India – one each from Singapore, Australia and the US.

“This time we exceeded the total # of applicants by a significant number given how mature the program is and how well we have gained acceptance in the Indian startup ecosystem.” says Mukund Mohan.

Here is the list of companies:

CryptoPhoto.com – San Francisco based CryptoPhoto is purpose-built to prevent all modern attacks used to steal logins using a photo based technique.

Dabkick.com – Silicon Valley based DabKick is a free mobile communications app that allows people to interact live with friends and family while watching videos, showing photos and listening to music together.

Fairket.com – Fairket is a new way to buy and sell mobile apps. It provides app developers the ability to price his app for metered usage and a consumer is billed on only actual usage.

FlatPebble.com – It’s a marketplace for finding and hiring wedding photographers. It had raised a seed round earlier and is already across 80 Indian cities and 5 countries.

NiftyWindow.com – Nifty Window is a distributed content marketing platform that helps brick & mortar businesses drive in-store sales across search, social media and mobile channels.

WearFin.com – Fin is a wearable tech gadget you can wear on the thumb and make your whole palm as a digital touch interface. Fin had crowdfunded over $100,000 as seed from Indiegogo earlier.

Deltax.com – Cross-channel Digital Media Platform that optimizes business KPIs with Unified Tracking, Attribution & Reporting.

Tallenge.com – An online talent platform where users can showcase their skills and compete to win fame and fortune.

TheFluidMotion.com — An interactive platform that enable users to operate computers with hand gestures alone.

PlayBlazer.com — Playblazer is a cloud-hosted framework of Social & Multiplayer Game Mechnics that help Game Studios cut down development time while adding new capabilities.

Prohance.net – It is focusing on desk force productivity enhancement. Prohance tracks time efficiency and time effectiveness with key statistics and trend analysis.- Helps organisations achieve about 20 percent productivity gains through smart and efficient working.

Appknox.com – Singapore based Appknox is building a sophisticated yet easy-to-use security ‘Audit Tool’ for mobile app vulnerability detection and security certification.

Definitely a very interesting mix of startups from a variety of markets and fields.
