Electric Vehicles This Week: Hyundai To Launch Made-In-India EV In 2022, Tesla Model Y Shipped & More

As India grapples with the coronavirus pandemic, there has been an evident slowdown in the Indian electric vehicle (EV) industry as well. This week, there has been very limited development in the electric mobility segment as the country’s focus has shifted to keeping its citizens safe from Covid-19.

But the EV industry is quietly going about its work even though supply chains from China have been impacted. Bengaluru-based electric vehicle (EV) fleet provider Lithium Urban Technologies partnered with renewable energy solutions provider Fourth Partner Energy to build a charging infrastructure across the country.

The companies have formed a joint venture called Shuchi Anant Virya, which unveiled its first charging station in Gurugram. The charging station has the capacity to charge over 25-30 EVs simultaneously. To add to this, Fourth Partner Energy will also provide both onsite and offsite solar solutions to power the charging stations.

“The global transition to electric mobility can be considered truly green only when the increased demand for energy is met by clean, renewable sources – Shuchi was formed to address this opportunity,” Vivek Subramanian, cofounder and ED at Fourth Partner Energy, said.
