Edtech startup Saarthi Pedagogy has raised about $2.1 Mn (INR 16 Cr) as a part of its Pre-Series A funding round led by Pinnacle Investments.

“We are very excited to partner with stalwarts of Prestige and welcome them to the Saarthi family. We look forward to building a sustainable and capital-efficient ed-tech business that will truly impact the lives of millions of students studying in affordable schools in India,” Sushil Agrawal, founder and CEO of Saarthi Pedagogy, said.

Founded in 2018 by Sushil Agrawal, Saarthi Pedagogy focuses on the K-12 education system. The edtech startup offers personalised AI-backed academic content to schools. It aims to optimise the productivity of teachers by automating all administrative tasks.

Saarthi claims to have catered to nearly 850 schools, witnessing a 9X growth from 220 schools, in academic year 2021-22. It further asserts to have registered 85K students on its platform to date. It aims to sign up 2,000 schools and 2 Lakh students for the academic year 2022-23.

In August 2021, Saarthi closed a $1 Mn seed funding round. It claims to have launched an AI-backed learning management system (LMS) that can measure and improve learning outcomes.

Of late, massive deals have been witnessed in the Indian edtech sector. In February 2022, former Twitter India head Manish Maheshwari’s immersive virtual MBA platform–Invact Metaversity raised its first institutional round of funding at a valuation of $33 Mn.

The round saw participation from more than 70 global entrepreneurs including Future Group’s Kishore Biyani, Manipal group’s TV Mohandas Pai, Plaksha’s Ritesh Malik and former Facebook India head Kirthiga Reddy.

In February this year, Info Edge acquired a 25% stake in Gurugram-based edtech startup Juno Learning for INR 11.25 Cr while skill learning edtech startup BrightChamps acquired edtech startup Education10x  in a cash and stock deal.

Juno, founded by Tarun Matta, is an interactive online school platform that teaches sales techniques, processes, and tools to entry-level professionals and students in an experiential manner, to enhance employability.
