Coworking space provider Creator’s Gurukul has raised an undisclosed amount in a fresh round of funding. The company is also going live with its flagship centre near Cyber City in Millennium City, Gurugram.

With this round of funding, Sandeepan Senapati, a London-based technocrat, investor and promoter of the graduates technology training initiative TechBridge labs, has become one of the company’s investors.

Commenting on the development, Senapati said, “Creator’s Gurukul is a unique opportunity. It creates an environment where budding entrepreneurs can bounce of their ideas, collaborate and co-work with like-minded individuals and teams. Creator’s Gurukul’s innovative business model backed by a solid team made it an easy decision for me to join forces.”

Existing investors of the coworking space who participated in the latest funding round are banker Rohit Nanda and Smarak Bhuyan, an investor based out of the Bay Area, California.

The fresh capital will be utilised to expand its team and fund the launch of more centres. With this, Creator’s Gurukul also looks to establish a differentiated and unique proposition in managed rental spaces. The flagship centre will also introduce Vikas Sharma’s Guftagu Cafe.

Speaking of the fundraise, Yuvraj Singh, Partner and Brand Ambassador of Creator’s Gurukul said, “The nature of work, and the demands of the new workforce are evolving rapidly these days. In order to cater to their new age, on-demand workspace requirements, we have added new layers to our product mix after doing extensive research on emerging worktrends especially the fast growing gig economy.”

As stated by the founders, Creator’s Gurukul is also in talks with a few institutional investors to raise additional capital, geared towards driving its growth and expansion into new markets.

The company is in the process of opening multiple centres for its users in Gurugram, Delhi, Faridabad and Noida. Additionally it is looking to  and expand across popular commercial hubs rapidly to provide a better experience to its users.

An Overview Of Creator’s Gurukul

Found in April 2017 by IIT Delhi alumnus Abhinav Tandon and serial entrepreneur Mohammed Sirajuddin, Creator’s Gurukul aims to turbocharge the Indian entrepreneurial environment by blending Global best practices and collaborations.

It is backed by Shabir Momin, MD and CTO at ZengaTV, Singapore; Anubhav Kaul, Investment Director – Ward Ferry Management Ltd., Hong Kong and Jasmeet Singh and other industry veterans like Taranjeet Sapra, Vikas Sharma, Co-Founder & Director at Desiredwings.com, Catapooolt.com & 7 Miles Groupl; K S Sirish, Vineet Tyagi, Surya Prakash and Ram Atri.

Prior to the latest fundraise, the company raised an undisclosed amount in September 2017 from a bunch of investors. Earlier in July 2017, cricketer Yuvraj Singh also made an investment in Creator’s Gurukul. As part of the deal Singh came onboard as a Partner and Brand Ambassador of the startup.

In the coworking space segment, Creator’s Gurukul competes with US-based coworking startup WeWork, BHIVE Workplace, Innov8, 91springboard, Awfis among others.

With its expansion plans already underway, whether Creator’s Gurukul will be successful in gaining a stronghold in emerging markets remains to be seen.
