BetterPlace is looking to target the 200 Mn frontline workers in SEA and will acquire MyRobin’s 3 Mn blue-collar workers
BetterPlace has acquired five startups in the workforce management segment in the last two years
Bengaluru-based workforce management startup BetterPlace has acquired Indonesia-based blue-collar workforce fulfilment platform MyRobin for an undisclosed amount.
BetterPlace marked its expansion into the Southeast Asia (SEA) market with the acquisition, the company said. The startup added that it is looking to target the 200 Mn frontline workers in SEA, as the market size of the frontline workforce management market in the region stands at $280 Bn.
“BetterPlace, having seen success for its horizontal suite of services in India, aims to replicate the same in SEA,” said the Bengaluru-based startup.

Founded in 2020, MyRobin is a workforce-as-a-service platform that provides companies with on-demand, pre-screened blue-collar workers. BetterPlace noted that MyRobin has more than 3 Mn workers across 270 cities in Indonesia.
MyRobin offers a full-stack solution to clients with recruitment, documentation, attendance, performance and workers’ payments. Blue-collar workers can also register with MyRobin and find jobs, financial services and training via MyRobin Academy.

Founded in 2015, BetterPlace is a frontline workforce management platform. The startup claims to have over 30 Mn workers on its platform and 1,100 companies as clients. The startup offers verification, discovery, hiring and onboarding to upskilling, productivity management and benefits transfer.
BetterPlace also has a B2C platform, Rocket, which partners with enterprises to upskill frontline workers for free so that more frontline workers are job-ready and enterprises have access to a pre-trained frontline workforce.
In December 2022, BetterPlace raised $40 Mn as part of its extended Series C round which resulted in international investor Macquarie Capital joining the captable, along with Jungle Ventures, Unitus, BII, Capria and 3one4 Capital.
BetterPlace has acquired several startups over the past few years in the workforce management segment, growing inorganically in the process.
Last year, it acquired OkayGo and EzeDox within eight days of each other. Further, the Bengaluru-based startup completed the acquisitions of OLX People, Waah Jobs and Oust Labs in October 2021.
