Bengaluru-and San Jose-based Automation Anywhere, a robotic process automation (RPA) company on Tuesday (November 5) announced the acquihire of Bengaluru-based Cathyos Labs for enabling the company’s expansion and product innovation journey.

In a press statement, Prince Kohli, a chief technology officer of Automation Anywhere said that there is a growing demand for intelligent automation technology in India and globally, which is why the company has acquired the talent from the product engineering startup.

He added, “As organizations seek to improve productivity and lower their operating costs in the system. We are eager to welcome the engineers and product development team from Cathyos Labs to add their expertise and support our digital workforce platform.”

Kumar Saurabh Johny, the cofounder of Cathyos Labs said in a statement that the company’s experience in product engineering, RPA, cloud infrastructure and data engineering consultation and services will help it scale the business and become a valuable addition to the product development team at Automation Anywhere.

Interestingly, this is the first talent acquisition done by Automation Anywhere.

Cathyos Labs offer services in product development, automation, RPA and predictive analytics. Through this acquisition, Automation Anywhere is looking to strengthen its engineering team to increase product development, support and delivery for customers in India and internationally.

Founded in 2016, Cathyos Labs was founded by Kumar Saurabh Johny. Automation Anywhere which was started in 2003 by Mihir Shukla, Rushabh Parmani, Ankur Kothari, and Neeti Mehta, it is headquartered in San Jose, California.

The SoftBank-backed robotic process automation company announced plans to invest $100 Mn in India over the next 3-5 years to expand its capacities in India.

The company has also announced its plan to open four new offices in India to support unprecedented customer and partner growth. Automation Anywhere said that it would set up more research and development centres in India and focus on training and upskilling more engineers in automation, apart from creating a partner ecosystem to boost the adoption of robotic process automation.

It offers a complete suite of products capable of automating business processes at scale. This includes a foundational Enterprise RPA platform; IQ Bot, an artificial intelligence (AI) product and Bot Insight, a predictive analytics capability embedded into bots. It had recently acquired Paris-based Klevops for an undisclosed amount. This enables customers to automate more processes with the same level of central governance, security and analytic capability.
