Alibaba Cloud Partners With Cloud Distributor ZNet To Drive India Growth

Alibaba Cloud, the data intelligence vertical of Alibaba Group, has entered a distribution partnership with cloud distributor ZNet Technologies.

The partnership will bring Alibaba Cloud’s proven products and solutions that have been supporting Alibaba Group’s international business activities ranging from e-commerce, fin-tech, logistics, digital media and entertainment to ZNet businesses and channel partners, and empower them with innovative and reliable technologies for success in a digital era, says Alibaba Cloud’s statement.

In India, Alibaba Cloud provides products and services to clients in India across the ecommerce, gaming, media, retail and IoT sectors through an extensive network of distributors. The China-based company opened its first India data centre in Mumbai in January 2018.

Alibaba Cloud has been focusing on the Indian market as there is an increasing demand for Cloud computing services among small and medium-sized businesses in India.

Henry Zhang, chief product officer of Alibaba Cloud had earlier said that Indian customers are very much on the cutting edge. “Some of the largest growing startups such as Paytm and Big Basket are in India. We are focussed on building products and services that will benefit Indian customers,” he said.

Through the latest collaboration, the company will leverage ZNet’s expertise in cloud migration, product development, and managed services. “Our partnership with ZNet gives us the opportunity to share our technologies and industry know-how with our partners and help them succeed in the competitive Indian market,” said Alex Li, General Manager, Alibaba Cloud South Asia.

Founded in 2009, ZNet Technologies Private Limited is a distributor of cloud services, IT infrastructure services, and cybersecurity services to partners across the globe. The business units of ZNet include ZNetLive and RackNap.

The collaboration will help further equip local businesses with fast track digital transformation initiatives. “We have gained strong expertise in working with our global partners, and we hope to transfer the knowledge to local partners and customers, so that we can empower them on their digital transformation journey and achieve greater business success,” Li added.

In May this year, Alibaba announced a China Gateway Programme to ease the entry of international companies into China. The company also stressed the importance of the Indian market for its cloud-enabled services. Under the China Gateway Programme, the regional partners will connect international companies with Chinese companies and consumers using Alibaba ecosystem.
